Abu Dhabi, 8 December 2014: Royal Jet, the Middle East’s foremost private charter company, confirmed a new Bombardier Learjet 60 XR business jet (A6-RJE) and a Bombardier Global 5000 business jet (A6-RJC) recently joined its fleet in October and November respectively. A second Bombardier Global 5000 business jet (A6-RJD) will enter into service in January 2015, which will be followed by a second Bombardier Learjet 60 XR business jet within the first four months of 2015. During Middle East Business Aviation 2014 (MEBA), Royal Jet also confirmed that it is renewing its collaboration with Boeing and will take delivery of two new Boeing business jets.
Royal Jet, chaired by His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, is a founding member and a current board member of MEBA. The private charter company is participating at MEBA 2014 – taking place from 8 to 10 December at Dubai World Central – for the sixth year running.
MEBA is well-established in the Middle East and Captain Patrick Gordon, Acting President and Chief Executive Officer of Royal Jet, said, “MEBA 2014 serves as a global platform to showcase the region’s expanding and growing strength in this market and Royal Jet is proud to be a founding member and a current board member.”
The Bombardier and Boeing aircraft are part of Royal Jet’s fleet replacement and expansion programme that will increase the fleet to 20 aircraft by the year 2020 at a cost of US $700 million. Royal Jet is also considering aircraft from Airbus, including the CS 300 and Gulfstream for future acquisitions. Today, Royal Jet is operating 11 aircraft (six Boeing Business Jets, two Gulfstream G300s, two Bombardier Learjet 60s and one Bombardier Global 5000).
Captain Patrick Gordon continued, “Royal Jet is recognised globally for its standard of luxury, reliability, confidentiality and safety in the private aviation industry. Thanks to His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan’s vision, we are already the benchmark for Middle East private charter companies and it’s our aim to set the standard globally for operators offering VIP chartered services. The decision to continue our partnership with Bombardier and Boeing reinforces Royal Jet’s consistent offering of award-winning service excellence.”
The new Bombardier Learjet 60 XR business jet can carry up to six guests and provides more space and better cabin functionality. The newly refurbished aircraft presents the ultimate airborne luxury with a stylishly redefined cabin, WiFi and two LCD monitors. The Learjet 60 XR business jet is also being operated as part of Royal Jet’s successful and expanding Medevac division.
The Bombardier Global 5000 business jet, capable of carrying 12 guests, is a new model in the Royal Jet fleet. Providing more high-comfort living and working area than any of its peers, the comforts and features of the Bombardier Global 5000 are conducive to relaxed productivity. The cabin can also be configured to sleep seven guests.
“We are very proud that Royal Jet has chosen the legendary Learjet business jet and flagship Global business jet family to further expand their services and operations,” said Khader Mattar, Regional Vice-President, Sales, Middle East and Africa, Bombardier Business Aircraft. “Bombardier’s Global jets offer unparalleled comfort, performance and range capabilities that allow you to connect the world’s key business hubs non-stop, while traveling in the perfect combination of craftsmanship and technology.”
The new Boeing business jet is modelled on the Boeing 737-700 airline, is almost three times the size of the largest long-range corporate jets and can carry up to 50 guests, offers a 10 hour range and is specifically designed for corporate and VIP use. The aircraft offers the freedom and ability to configure the interior to match the personal preferences of the guest and the many options include a private master bedroom and en-suite bathroom, a private stateroom, luxurious open lounge and a variety of seating and dining configurations.
“Boeing Business Jets and Royal Jet have a long history of working together to offer a superior flying experience. We are very pleased that Royal Jet has chosen the BBJ to begin their large cabin fleet renewal,” said Stephen Taylor, President, Boeing Business Jets.
