UAE-based strategic investment company, Tawazun, is working with Abu Dhabi’s Technology Development Committee (TDC) to help shed light on the latest science, technology and innovation trends in Defence and National Security.
The Defence Innovation and Technology Conference (DITEC) 2015 – held under the theme ‘From Idea to Applications’ – is being held on February 25th on the side lines of the 2015 International Defence Exhibition & Conference (IDEX).
International government and military officials, policymakers and key industry experts and stakeholders will be discussing the latest trends affecting the defence sector and their impact on national security. Tawazun’s Advisor, Dr. Jasem Al Ali, will be delivering a presentation at the conference covering engineering and research & development initiatives and their prospects in enabling and sustaining the development of the defence industry in UAE.
With the UAE’s Ministry of Defence as a strategic partner, and with Abu Dhabi’s Technology Development Committee (TDC) as organizer, the event is bringing together global leaders to showcase international success stories related to innovation and technology in the defence sector, look into new technologies and their applications, and to discuss methods of utilizing military innovations in the civilian sector. Participants will also highlight the importance of collaborations between universities and key players in the defence sector in addition to methods of safeguarding intellectual property in the field. Speakers will also address the UAE’s future defence and security manufacturing requirements.

The event will see UAE-based speakers representing organisations such as: the UAE Ministry of Defence, TDC, Tawazun Holding, Mubadala Development Company, UAE Space Agency, Khalifa University, Masdar Institute of Science and Technology, ADNOC and UAE University.
Global experts from Boeing Phantom Works, QinetiQ, iCLEAR, C-SIGMA, Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) Foundation, F L Fernandez Inc., Direction Direction Générale de l'Armement (DGA), Defence Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA), Northrop Grumman Corporation, and Lockheed Martin International will also take to the stage.
DITEC 2015 will run from 10:00 am to 17:00 pm on the 25th of February at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center’s (ADNEC) Conference Hall A, on an invitation basis only.
